＃感恩懂的人 為了懂的手工瓷土Handmade porcelain 價值的人， 好好活著！活著就有希望Hope 唷～ Thank you for visiting our stand at the Indies Market yesterday in Bristol, England. We really appreciate everyone who understands the value of handmade porcelain and stoneware, and who believes in how challenging it is to be a living artist in this crazy world. Unfortunately, we also met some people who questioned the price of my handmade porcelain and hand-painted Christmas decorations (£4.50 each or 2 for £8). One person told me that in China it’s very cheap. I explained that we are in Britain, not China, and that I am a living artist. My porcelain decorations are all handmade, the porcelain (Royale porcelain) is bought from @bathpotterssupplies in Bath, and the cost of the electric kiln firing is not cheap. Another man said that selling porcelain Christmas decorations is silly because they could easily break on a Christmas tree. Thank you to those who think I’m silly or too expensive. Even though some other stallholders kindly told me not to worry about those comments and to focus on the people who appreciate my work, I decided to write this out. I want people to know this is a real experience from the market. I don’t want to hide it. Too many people come to markets acting like angry birds, forgetting to respect the makers. I am not a trader — I am a maker. I am not here for people to release their anger at me. 我知道走在陶瓷藝術創作這條路上， 能活著像一個人，已經不容易，很多時候，活得不像人～ 我特別珍惜每一個願意給予我工作機會的人， 謝謝作品集和履歷表CV， 陪我度過每一個競爭激烈的工作機會， 全世界的藝術家一起爭取，通常只有個位數的機會， 有時候只有一個， 中間的過程就像是每一份工作面試很真實很冷酷。 謝謝拉脫維亞的當地記者， 問我這個機會， 是否會改變我的藝術生涯，老實說我不知道？ 但是我知道每一步的是一小步，但對我來說都是一大步， 我在這條沒有捷徑的道路上，只能非常努力， 和非常感謝給予我機會的人， 相信時間會證明這段時間，我在波羅的海的努力， 我期待看到自己更大的進步！ 繼續努力~

Some studio photos from the International Small Form Ceramics Symposium “Navigation 2025” — I’m happy to have had the time and space to create something new. Thank you, Jānis Kupčs, for inviting us and for your support throughout this developmental project. During the opening exhibition, a local journalist asked me, “Do you think this event will change your career?” I answered, “I really appreciate this learning and exhibiting opportunity. For me, each small step leads to the next. Who I am now has come from taking things step by step — there are no shortcuts for me. I’m not sure how this event will change my career, but I believe time will tell. Beyond thank you, it’s still thank you — this opportunity means a lot to me.” The International Small Form Ceramics Symposium “Navigation 2025” runs from 17th October to 23rd November in the Small Exhibition Hall of the Order of Livonian Palace (Ventspils Museum), Ventspils, Latvia. I’m happy that my handmade porcelain bears — Dzintars, Medus, Laime, and Sonora — are included in this exhibition. These four bears were created during the symposium. Their forms are inspired by the Taiwanese black bear, a symbol of my homeland, while their names reference elements of Latvian culture — such as the Christian calendar, the honey brand Medus, and the chocolate brand Laima. The work also draws inspiration from the museum’s collection of spinning spindles, creating a dialogue between cultures through these cross-cultural identity bears.
