Thank you for joining our Creative Calligraphy workshop at SERDE in Aizpute, Latvia, yesterday afternoon from 2:00–4:00 PM. SERDE
We’re so happy to hear that participants enjoyed practicing the "forever ," and then gradually learning to write traditional Chinese characters such as “Happy Summer Solstice,” “Happy New Year,” “Health,” and more. It was also wonderful to see everyone using traditional ink to write and draw.
We enjoyed sharing our passion for Taiwanese culture and the beauty of traditional Chinese calligraphy.
Thank you for inviting us to hold this workshop as part of our artist residency in Latvia.

Thank you for inviting us to take part in the artist residency in Aizpute, Latvia. @smg_serde
This is our second time visiting Latvia — our first visit was in 2023, when my handmade Garden Pinks was selected by the Riga Porcelain Museum @riga_porcelain_museum part of the exhibition Small Form Porcelain: Pure Colour (20 Oct – 10 Dec 2023).
We are very glad to return, this time for a short stay to take part in the artist residency, which is themed around the summer solstice. Martin and I will run a creative workshop to share our passions. I will introduce Taiwanese culture, focusing on traditional Chinese characters. We have prepared 15 sets of materials, including ink, brushes, and handmade paper from Taiwan. Martin will share his thoughts on the summer solstice in connection with Stonehenge. @martinharmanart @wenhsiharmanporcelainart
We are truly grateful for this opportunity to create, exchange cultures, and reflect on our roles as artists with social responsibility. We sincerely hope for a more peaceful and harmonious world.
Thank you to SERDE, the Latvian National Culture Capital Foundation, my mother, and my friends in Taiwan for your generous support.❤️

Riga
Les Musiciens de Brême

Lativa 。
House of the Black Heads,門口拍照

https://www.wenhsichenceramics.com/17th-international-exhibition-of-small-form-porcelain-pure-color-riga-porcelain-museum.html。

In bloom
In bloom.
It was my first time volunteering at the Museum of East Asian Art in Bath, England, yesterday. I was happy to engage with local visitors and share my handmade porcelain work—rose petals—currently on display in the exhibition In Bloom.
One man told me that his father had visited my homeland, Taiwan, on a business trip and saw Taipei 101, which was once the tallest building in the world. Another lady from Wales shared her thoughts about the wellbeing benefits of working with ceramics. I learned a lot through these conversations with the audience.
I also received some positive feedback during my time there, which meant a lot to me. During a quiet moment, I had the chance to explore the museum's collection and reflect on how ancient objects can connect with contemporary art and living artists.
Thank you to the Museum of East Asian Art for including my work in 'In Bloom' (until 20 Dec 2025 ) ,and thank you, Emma, for sharing so many behind-the-scenes stories with me.
