I decided to move my work from the inside space to the outside, into the real world, because much of my inspiration came from observing Turkish cultural identity through colors, tea, coffee, and emotions. I challenged myself to travel to a new country for this residency, allowing myself to step out of my daily routine and create something different from my usual practice. This experience pushed me to embrace discomfort, as a way to discover new ideas. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have the freedom to continue my artistic practice, regardless of how others may judge my watercolors or question my personal identity. Thank you, Istanbul—whether the experiences were good or bad, they have become an essential part of my journey. As an artist, this process is my way of life and philosophy.
